Case Summary
As part of a disputed divorce settlement in the High Court, we were asked to examine several sales contracts for properties bearing disputed signatures. The properties had been transferred to family members to reduce the total liabilities in any settlement and contracts were signed in Arabic script.
Process
- Compare the signatures on the disputed documents with reference examples of the purported authors.
- Produce findings and conclusions as evidence in the form of a CPR 35 compliant report.
Outcome
We presented our findings as evidence in the High Court. Some of the signatures were found to be genuine and others were found to bear evidence of simulation and were therefore deemed forgeries.
